Oaths: Dedication and Prayer to Brighid

    OathsRiordan writes:

(This is how it originally came to me:)

I will create with the written word
With the inspiration Your fire shall provide
Which I will dedicate to You

I will seek out the comfort of Your hearth
Pray Your fire shall assuage my suffering
And I will hold You at the core of my soul

I will strive to carry through my endeavors
Hope your fire will steel my will
And I will devote my accomplishments to You

(But, once again, since now I am obsessed with the doctrine of the three-fold effects of the three-fold fires of Brighid, I decided to extend it to this:)

I will commit myself to Your music
Yearning that Your fire in the head shall exalt me
And I will seek You in that lofty state

I will conceive with the written word
Beseech Your fire in the head to inspire me
And I will count myself grateful for it

    I will produce written works
Entreat Your fire in the head to incite me
And I will dedicate my works to You

I will seek out comfort in You
Longing for Your fire of the hearth to assuage my suffering
And I will hold you at the core of my soul

I will look for nourishment in You when I am thirsty/hungry in body/soul
Craving Your fire of the hearth shall nurture me
And I will count myself obliged by Your hospitality

I will turn to You when I am ailing either in body or of soul
Hankering for Your fire of the hearth to regenerate me
And I will attempt to spread a bit of that healing around

I will seek for Your guidance when coming to a fork in the road
Trusting Your fire on the forge to shape me properly
And I will strive to become someone You can be pleased with

I will take with good grace the hardships of life
Expecting Your fire of the forge to temper my temperament
And I will struggle to live life and my moods with balance

I will endure whatever blows life sends my way
Relying on Your fire on the forge to strengthen both my body and soul
And I will devote my accomplishments to Your service

(I fell in love with the doctrine of the three-fold effect of the three-fold fire of Brighid, and I have been struggling with an oath to Brighid ever since I learned members of this order are expected to perform one. It is Imbolc still where I live, and I thought it a perfect time to give it another shot.
But I realize all my poetry until now has revolved around this theme, and, if you are not weary yet, I am. From now on I will seek other aspects of Brighid of which to sing Her praises.)
(p.s. some of my lines were too long for the width of the text, so i edited a little so as not to break the lines or the visual effect, which mattered to me. but the idea is there.)
