“Lady of the perpetual flame and sacred wells,we seek you.”

Instructions to Make a Brighid's Eye

Picture
Supplies Needed:
• 2 straight branches, sticks, dowels, popsicle sticks or skewers
• Balls of colorful yarn
• Scissors
1. Fasten two sticks together to form a cross shape, wrapping them with your chosen color of yarn until it feels firmly in place.

2. Wrap the yarn around the sticks, choosing to go either clockwise or counterclockwise as you prefer, following this pattern: slide the yarn behind the stick, make a full loop around it, and then move on to the next stick. Keep repeating this process.

3. To switch up the yarn color, simply attach a new hue to the existing one by tying them together securely. Keep the wrapping motion going, and when you're ready, introduce another color, repeating this process until your project reaches the desired size.

4. Once you've completed your project, secure the end of the yarn with a knot. Trim away any loose ends to tidy up your work.

5. Create a small loop of yarn at the top for hanging your Brighid's Eye
