Ord Brighideach (the Order of Brighid) is a Brighidine devotional order that has been walking in reverence with Brighid since 1997. We are not bound to any single tradition or denomination. Our circle is open to all whom Brighid calls. Whoever you are, whatever your path, you are welcome beneath Her radiant mantle.
Brighid is the Healing Well and the Purifying Flame. She is protector of the Earth and all that is tender upon it—children, animals, and the innocent ones who depend upon our care. She is the fire that warms and transforms, and the waters that cleanse and renew.
Across centuries and cultures, She has been known by many names—St. Brigit, Brighid, Brid, Bride, Briga, Brigid, Bridgid, Briginda, Brigdu, Brigittina, Brigantia, Maman Brigitte—each name another way Her light has found its way into the world.
We of Ord Brighideach have heard and answered Her call. At our heart, we are Flame Keepers and Water Tenders-those who guard the eternal fire of Brighid and those who keep Her waters clean, pure, and flowing. In this devotion, each of us serves as we have been called: some keeping vigil at the flame, others watching over the waters of the Earth, blessing rivers, wells, and streams. From this sacred work, many other callings unfold—healing and poetry, craft and song, midwifery and mothering, tending the land, and caring for the creatures who dwell upon it. Yet all are threads in the same bright mantle of Her service.
If She speaks to you—as poet, healer, smith, storyteller, musician, or craftsperson; as midwife, mother, hearth-keeper, or tender of the land; as guardian of animals or steward of green places; as seer, woman of flame, weaver of words, or keeper of lore; as protector of the home or lady of the sun—or simply as saint, goddess, or beloved presence known by any of Her many names—you are welcome to walk among us.
The Three-Fold Fire of Brighid
Fire in the forge that shapes and tempers.
Fire in the cauldron that nourishes and heals.
Fire in the head that incites and inspires.

Each evening, as part of the living devotion of Ord Brighideach, prayer is held in reverence to Brighid-She who is both sacred flame and healing well. In that quiet hour, the needs of others are carried into prayer and remembrance, held with care, presence, and intention.
Our Abbess enters this nightly vigil as part of her priestess journey, opening her heart in prayer and meditation on behalf of those who ask to be remembered. Drawing upon years of devoted spiritual practice and training, she holds each name and need with care, discernment, and intention, tending them faithfully within the circle of prayer.

Sustaining the Work
Ord Brighideach is sustained through faithful tending and the generosity of those who feel called to support this work. Offerings help maintain the Order’s website and communications, support the creation and sharing of devotional resources, and provide welcome materials sent to new Flame Keepers as they enter into relationship with the Order.
