WE ARE KEEPERS OF THE SACRED FLAME...

Ord Brighideach (the Order of Brighid) is a Brighidtine Order of Flame Keepers and Water Tenders who have been walking in devotion with Brighid since 1997. We are not tied to any single tradition or denomination—our circle is open to all whom Brighid calls. Whoever you are, whatever your path, you are welcome beneath Her radiant mantle.
Brighid is the Healing Well and the Purifying Flame. She is the protector of the Earth and all that is tender upon it—children, animals, and the innocent ones who depend on our care.
Over the centuries, She has been known by many names--
St. Brigit, Brighid, Brid, Bride, Briga, Brigid, Bridgid, Briginda, Brigdu, Brigittina, Brigantia, Maman Brigitte.
Each name is another way Her light has shone into the world.
We of Ord Brighideach have heard and answered Her call. Our members continue Brighid’s sacred work in our own time. Each of us is committed to serving in the ways we have been called—or, if Her voice has not yet come clearly, in the ways our hearts are moved to honor Her.
We of Ord Brighideach have heard and answered Her call. At our heart, we are Flame Keepers and Water Tenders—those who guard the eternal fire of Brighid and those who keep Her waters clean, pure, and flowing. In this devotion, each of us serves as we have been called: some keeping vigil at the flame, others watching over the waters of Earth, blessing rivers, wells, and streams. From this sacred work, many other callings unfold—healing and poetry, craft and song, midwifery and mothering, tending the land and caring for the creatures who dwell upon it. Yet all are threads in the same bright mantle of Her service.
If She speaks to you—as poet, healer, smith, storyteller, musician, or craftsperson; as midwife, mother, hearth-keeper, or tender of the land; as shepherd, guardian of animals, or steward of green places; as seer, woman of flame, weaver of words, or keeper of lore; as lawgiver, protector of the home, or lady of the sun—or simply as saint, goddess, or beloved presence by any of Her many names—you are welcome to walk among us.

"Brighid - a poetess, daughter of the Dagda. She is the female sage, woman of wisdom, or Brighid the Goddess whom poets venerated because very great and famous of her protecting care. She was therefore called "Goddess of Poets". Her sisters were Brighid the female physician, and Brighid the female smith; among all Irishmen, a goddess was called 'Brighid". Brighid is from "breo-agit” or "fiery arrow'." Cormac's Glossary, believed to be the oldest writing about Brighid. |

Are you in need of prayer or healing energy?
Our Abbess opens her heart each night in sacred devotion, entering prayer and meditation as part of her priestess journey. In that quiet hour, she carries the needs of others into the presence of Brighid’s flame and well.
Trained in many paths of energy healing, she weaves light, blessing, and intention into her prayers. If you wish to be held in her evening circle of prayer and healing, you may add your name by clicking the button below.
