Brighid & The Moon

Picture
Brighid is most often remembered as a Sun Goddess, radiant with fire and inspiration. Yet as Lady of Wells and Waters, she is also deeply a Moon Goddess, flowing with mystery, healing, and renewal. She offers us the gifts of both luminaries — the Sun’s brilliance and the Moon’s quiet glow: inspiration, knowledge, skill, childbirth, healing, and creativity.

To many she is also honored as a Triple Goddess, whose threefold nature further binds her to the cycles of the moon. In her we see the waxing maiden, the radiant mother, and the wise crone — each phase reflecting a face of Brighid.

In this light, the moon’s magick becomes another way to honor her — attuning ourselves to her rhythms of fire and water, day and night, sun and moon.
