Prayer Beads

I wanted to share with you my personal way of using prayer beads or a rosary during meditation with Brighid.
I find it to be a wonderful and meaningful practice.
​Feel free to adapt it to your own preferences or  for the specific beads you have.

1st Prayer
BRIDGET BRIGHT by Hedgewytch
She is known as Brigid Bright,
Goddess who shines against the night.
At Cille Dara, at the setting sun,
Her sacred flame is kept by one.
Nineteen times the earth turns round,
As sacred springs come forth the ground.
Twenty times the sun has burned,
And now the Goddess has returned.
Alone she tends her thrice-bright flame,
Born of her heart that bears her name.
The Dagda knows Brigid as Daughter,
Triple Blessed by fire and water.
Poets call her name to inspire.
And healers oft gain from her fire.
Wayland too would know her well
As hammer and anvil ring like a bell.
A sorrowful cry did she give meaning,
When first she brought to Eire keening.
Oh Sacred Fire against darkest night,
Burn for Brigid, for Brigid Bright!
Fire in the head...to quicken us.
Fire in the cauldron...to heal us.
Fire in the forge of the heart...to temper us.

2nd Prayer
Beloved Brighid, revered as both Saint and Goddess,
Embrace me in this moment;
Navigate me through the intricate web of life on this planet.
Release me from the shackles of illness and sorrow.
Nurture me with your divine wisdom and insight.
Ignite within me your flame of inspiration,
Kindling my creativity and passion for life.
Teach me to live without bias, love without expectation and to show compassion to all.
Guide me on my journey of inner peace and tranquility.
And Illuminate my path so that I may fulfill your sacred mission.

3rd Prayer
Hail Brighid, bright arrow
Shine your radiant light upon me.
Blessed is your flame, a beacon of divine inspiration.
And blessed are your sacred wells of healing.
Holy Bride, my guardian and guide,
Teach me to embody your everlasting strength and courage.
Be with me now and forever more.
Blessed Be.

4th Prayer
Praise the Three-Fold Fire of Brighid,
Fire in the forge that shapes and tempers,
Fire in the cauldron that nourishes and heals.
Fire in the head that incites and inspires.
Blessed Be.

5th Prayer
Blessed Brighid,
May my heart be filled with your love and wisdom.
Guide me through this day (or night),
So I may witness your presence,
Hear your soothing voice,
Feel your comforting hand,
Discover you within myself,
And recognize you in all that surrounds me.
Blessed Be.

This Goddess Rosary was created by Lunea Weatherstone.

​I begin at the pendant and state the first prayer.
The green beads I state the 3rd prayer.
The clear beads I state the 2nd prayer.
The spirals I state the 4th prayer.
And I end with the center medal where I state the 5th prayer.

If using a regular rosary replace the Apostles Creed with 1st prayer.
Replace the Our Father with 2nd prayer.
Replace the Hail Mary with 3rd prayer.
Replace the Glory Be with 4th prayer.
And when you end at the center medal say the 5th prayer.

We welcome you, Brigid, each morn and each night,
We pray for your blessing new works to incite;
O Mother of Poetry, please teach us your art,
that your inspiration may enter each heart.

O Mistress of Magic, who stands by the fire,
And shapes the bright metal to the form you desire;
O Mother of Smithcraft, please teach us your art,
That the power of changing may enter each heart.

You kindle the Spring-time to quicken the earth,
from under your mantle the old has new birth,
O Mistress of Healing, please teach us your art,

On the first Amber Flower, the Blessing for Flamekeepers by Caitlín Matthews

Brigid of the Mantle, encompass us,
Lady of Lambs, protect us,
Keeper of the Hearth, kindle us,
Beneath you mantle, gather us,
And restore us to memory.

Mother of our mothers, Foremothers strong,
Guide our hands in yours,
Remind us how--to kindle the flame,
to keep it bright, to preserve the light,
Your hands upon ours, Our hands within yours,
to kindle the flame, both day and night.

The Mantle of Brigid about us,
The Protection of Brigid keeping us
from harm, from ignorance, from heartlessness,
This day and night, from dawn to dark,
from dark to dawn.

On the Carnelian beads:

O Brigid, spread above my head
Your Mantle bright, to guard me.

Be the compassing of Brigid around me--
keeping me from ill and evil, keeping me from death and doom,
keeping me from malice and misfortune.
Be the fiery blade of Brigid
defending me from all black swarms.
Be the shield of blessed Brigid
protecting me from all wounds.
Be the mantle of gentle Brigid
encircling and covering me.
Be the compassing of Brigid around me,
keeping me from hurt and harm, keeping me from wound and woe,
keeping me from darkness and despair.
Be the compassing of Brigid around me,
this day, each day, every day--
this night, each night, every night.
So mote it be!

On the third Amber Flower:

Brigid,
Your are a goddess of Peace,
You bring harmony where there is conflict,
You bring light to the darkness,
Your bring hope to the downcast,
May the mantle of your peace
Cover those who are troubled and anxious,
And may Peace be firmly rooted in our
hearts and in our world.
Inspire us to act justly and to revere
all of Creation.
Brigid,
You are a voice for the wounded and the weary,
Strengthen what is weak within us,
Calm us into a quietness that heals and listens.
May we grow each day into greater
wholeness in mind, body and spirit.
So mote it be!

May Brigid bless the house where I dwell,
Bless every fireside, every wall and door,
Bless every heart that beats beneath its roof,
Bless every hand that toils to bring it joy,
Bless every foot that walks its portals through.
May Brigid bless the house that shelters me!

May the Flame of the Healer turn away disease and ills,

Venerable Brigid, formed of wisdom, forged in strength, arrayed in compassion, displayed in grace we honor and bless your name. Empower us with your strength, fill us with your wisdom, comfort us with your compassion embolden us by your grace. May we honor you with our actions that are in keeping with your Divine character.
