Thank you for taking the time to learn more about donating to our Order and how your donations are used.
When Abbess Tracy took control of Ord Brighideach, she decided not to charge any fees to the members. Instead, she believed that we could support Ord Brighideach with donations from those who were able to make them. This was made clear from the very first week she became Abbess when the members donated enough to pay for the next 5 years of the domain and 1-year hosting costs of this website.
Therefore, the first two things that all donations are used for are to ensure that our website is always available to both members and those who seek to learn about Brighid. We also use donations to send new members a small welcome pack which includes a wick lit by a candle from Solas Bhride, where Brighid's perpetual flame is tended to in Kildare, a card, and a bookmark.
The Abbess will be reaching out to all existing members to send each of them the same welcome pack, so please be patient as she goes through the list of all our members. As we grow, and donations come in, we would love to someday be able to donate to people or organizations in need in the name of all of us here at Ord Brighideach.
